Survey Results Analysis

As soon as your project is launched, you can directly access the survey results page and track the progress in real-time by seeing answers coming in.

Depending on the length of your survey questionnaire, you should be starting to receive the first results after 10-15 minutes. This is the time required for the invites to be received by the panelists and for these last ones to access their mobile phones and take the time to answer your survey. Once the first survey answers come in, the remaining ones will flow in smoothly and super fast! The green progress bar will indicate the completion status.

Once you approach the end of fieldwork, you will notice that the pace at which answers come in slows down dramatically. Don’t panic! This is very much normal as towards the end the number of panelists who have received the invitation remains very little and you will need to wait for some of them to open this invitation and respond to the survey. It is also possible that most of your quotas have been met and there is only one or two left open: In this case, you need to wait until panelists from exactly those remaining unfilled quotas open their invitation.

But don’t worry, Zinklar’s average field time is 3 hours and 37 minutes (for an average sample size of 350 respondents) so you can rest assured that your survey will close within your working day.

The survey results page

On the left side of the survey results page, you can see the summary of your survey: the title, the objective it is trying to achieve, and the tag you chose at the beginning. Below the green progress bar, you can find the sample type you chose in the target selection step. In case you chose more than one profile, you can filter by each of them. At the same time, you can also filter by any of the demographics like gender, age, and geography. The charts will adjust automatically in real-time to reflect the desired filters. You can hide the summary by clicking on the icon on the top left of the page, below the Zinklar logo.

For each survey question, you can download its chart in .jpeg format and you can decide if you want to include it in the header of the aggregated tables. This last option is particularly useful if you need to read the results based on the answers to a certain question.

Open-ended questions are displayed through a word cloud. The larger the word appears in the word cloud, the more times it was mentioned. By hovering over the word you can see exactly how many times it was mentioned. There is also a sentiment analysis included in the coding of the words: positive concepts show in green, negative in red, and neutral in blue.

For ranking, matrix, and multiple score questions you can hide or show any of the variables that are part of the question, in order to have a better focus on what you really need to analyze.

Survey Results Options

At the top of the survey results page you have the following options:

  • Share: This action allows you to send the results of the survey to any e-mail contact you like. The receiver will only be allowed to go through this very page and will not be able to make any amendment or perform any action involving your account. This option is useful if you need to share the results of your survey with somebody outside of your team or department.
  • Preview: This action allows you to review the questionnaire. It is useful in case you have forgotten the different paths you had programmed in your survey through the use of logic jumps.
  • Hide Charts: This action allows you to visualize only the questions, without their related graphs.
  • Export: This option allows you to download three different files related to your project results:
    – The Data File (or Disaggregated Tables), an excel file which shows you how each panelist answered each single question.
    – The Aggregated Tables, an excel file which contains the summary of existing data grouped for all socio-demographic variables. You can decide to group the data by any other question of your survey by clicking on “Include this variable in the header in the aggregated tables” at the bottom of each chart.
    – Presentation, a PowerPoint file that reflects each chart appearing on your survey results page in each page of the presentation.
